International Holocaust Remembrance Day

To honour the memory of the six million Jewish children, women, and men murdered by the Nazis, the United Nations designated January 27 International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Sacred Site Visit

Montreal Holocaust Museum

In observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, join the Multi-faith and Spirituality Centre at the Montreal Holocaust Museum for their public lecture, "Peter Mansbridge in Conversation with Holocaust survivor George Reinitz."

Opportunities to hear first-hand from Holocaust survivors are increasingly rare; this will give us an opportunity to hear Mr. Reinitz's story of survival and his subsequent life in Montreal, and reflect on the horrors of the past and the importance of preventing future atrocities.

Spaces are limited: all members of the Concordia community are welcome to register. Priority will be given to current Concordia students.

Illuminating Concordia

The colour yellow evokes the memorial candles lit in remembrance of all the victims of the Shoah (Holocaust), which is an integral part of Holocaust commemorations. In 2024, Concordia’s EV and AD buildings were illuminated in yellow light on on January 27, 2024 in memory of the vicitims of the Holocaust.
