Illuminating Concordia
The colour yellow evokes the memorial candles lit in remembrance of all the victims of the Shoah (Holocaust), which is an integral part of Holocaust commemorations.
Monuments, buildings and Canadian landmarks will be lit in yellow, evoking candlelight, in remembrance, including Montreal’s Champlain Bridge and the Biosphere.
Concordia’s EV and AD buildings will be illuminated in yellow light on January 26 from 7 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. January 27, 2024.
Sacred Site Visit
In observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day (Jan 27), join the Multi-faith and Spirituality Centre and partners at the McGill Office of Religious and Spiritual Life to visit the Montreal Holocaust Museum.
The Museum tells the story of Jewish communities before, during and after the Holocaust. Learning of the life stories of Montreal survivors of the Holocaust offers an opportunity to reflect on the destruction caused by prejudice, racism and antisemitism.
Concordia's Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies undertakes scholarly research in all areas of Canadian Jewish studies. This includes a substantial Holocaust memoir project.
