Art POP 2022 Performance Series

Art Volt Collection and POP Montreal are partnering to support recent alumni through a summer performance art series that will take place at an outdoor site in Montreal’s Mile End neighbourhood, at 77 Bernard E. The site is framed by a large steel structure of a former warehouse, repurposed as a cultural venue that has been named L'Entrepôt77.

Would you like to:

  • Receive compensation for your creative productions

  • Gain increased visibility for yourself and your practice through the Art Volt and Art POP channels

  • Have your performative work presented in Montreal this summer (between mid-July and mid-September)

We are now accepting submissions from graduating students and recent alumni from the Faculty of Fine Arts interested in engaging with that space through site-specific, ephemeral projects, interventions, and art-based performances. We will seek proposals from a range of disciplines that engage with the site, that are accessible, meaningful and critically-relevant contemporary art projects.

The site is an open access, outdoor, multi-purpose space without overnight security. As such, projects must roll out on the day of the event and leave no traces behind.

Selected projects from this call will be provided a guaranteed performance fee in addition to a materials budget.

About Art POP

POP Montreal International Music Festival is a not-for-profit grassroots organization that champions independence in the arts by presenting emerging and celebrated artists from around the world. In addition to the main festival, POP presents multidisciplinary events locally and internationally throughout the year.

Art POP is the contemporary art component of POP Montreal. Art POP’s mission is to provide a platform for artists to exhibit; to advance a curatorial space that is distinct and relevant to the local contemporary arts community while remaining closely connected with the identity of POP Montreal and its programming.
