- Invoice template for artwork sales
An invoice is a request for payment, presented as a time-stamped document that provides the details of a good or service that was provided.
Invoices may include clauses for technical specificities, copyright and reproduction rights, resale rights, and general exhibition and upkeep done. However, they are not legally binding and are treated as an understanding between the buyer and seller. Incorporating these clauses are entirely optional.
Please note that a Certificate of Authenticity can be combined with an invoice in all cases except for new media, video work and installation-based works. For these specific practices, it is recommended that you provide an invoice separate from a Certificate of Authenticity, and that it be accompanied by an installation guide.
