The Electroacoustic Studies program is designed to refine and expand students' hearing, listening, and sonic imagination skills. The focus is on the ability to hear and create sounds, providing a broad foundation for students from diverse backgrounds to immerse themselves in multi-channel environments. Our program fits seamlessly into the Faculty of Fine Arts, offering immediate connections to artists from over a dozen disciplines, including film, animation, theater, dance, game design, video, and digital arts.

Major in Electroacoustic Studies
The Major in Electroacoustic Studies is a 48-credit program that covers many areas of electroacoustics, recording and sonic arts. A strong core of auditory, listening and sonic creativity skills allow graduates to pursue work and studies in electroacoustic composition, sound design and recording.
Minor in Electroacoustic Studies
The Minor in Electroacoustic Studies is a 24-credit program allowing students from other areas to develop auditory, listening and sonic creativity skills.
Specialization in Electroacoustic Creative Practices
The Specialization in Creative Practices is 60-credit program putting emphasis on the creation and invention of sounds, sound design, composition and performance.
Specialization in Electroacoustic Recording Arts
The Specialization in Recording Arts is 60-credit program putting emphasis on the development of a broadly-based recording portfolio, live and studio, solo and group, pop – commercial – concert, independently, or in the industry.
