The Chemical and Materials Engineering Department, founded in 2017, is driven by a team of dynamic faculty members at the forefront of their fields who are creating new and exciting next-gen approaches to teaching and research. With state-of-the-art facilities, such as the new Applied Sciences Hub on the Loyola campus, our world-class research is creating solutions for society’s toughest problems.
Our researchers and their students are engaged in a multitude of research activities across fields in energy conversion and storage, electrochemical engineering, polymers and advanced materials, bioengineering, process engineering, and control, with a department-wide emphasis on sustainability.
