Program overview

Advance your career and expertise in AI over two terms with our Applied AI Microprogram. This program, taught by faculty from the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, focuses on applied machine learning and deep learning. Begin with lectures and progress to project-based learning, all while managing your professional commitments.

As AI continues to shape multiple sectors, this program prepares you to be at the forefront of AI applications and innovations.

Program Outcomes

By the end of the microprogram, you will be able to:

  • Evaluate and select appropriate AI models for specific projects
  • Implement these models using advanced software tools
  • Manage AI projects through their entire lifecycle, from concept to completion
  • Critically assess and iterate AI project outcomes

Coursework

The microprogram is crafted to provide practical expertise through a hands-on approach, covering the entire lifecycle of an AI project—from planning and design through implementation and evaluation. Each course includes substantial project time supported by expert guidance.

Applied Machine Learning (COMP 6831)

Practical machine learning techniques using Python and scikit-learn, with a focus on project-based learning.

Applied Deep Learning (COMP 6841)

Deep learning applications using PyTorch, covering model architectures and implementation in vision and language processing.
