Lachine Canal Studio
The Lachine Canal Studio, a 1,400 sq. ft. artists workspace, is an invaluable gift from Natalie Voland to two of the most radically interdisciplinary graduate programs in North America.

A dedicated space to support graduate students in Concordia’s HUMA and INDI programs, the Lachine Canal Studio is a student-led space that has been adapted to accommodate diverse projects of architecture, film, poetry, dance, multimedia installations, virtual reality, linguistics, textiles, sound aesthetics and craft history.

Located in the creative community of the Complexe Canal Lachine, the studio provides dedicated creative space for artist-researchers to pursue their projects. Among the building’s tenants are painters, photographers, publishers, game designers and architects.

“Studio access is an invaluable gift for emerging artists. Dedicated work spaces and being immersed in a community of artists and creators will allow our graduate students to develop and enrich their practice significantly.”
