Amr Addas is an Adjunct Professor in the department of Finance and the Goodman MBA in Investment Management. He is also the director of the Van Berkom Investment Management Program and Van Berkom Small Cap Case Competition, as well as leading Concordia’s Sustainable Investing Practicum in collaboration with Manulife. Amr is also a member of the Faculty for the Sustainable Investment Professional Certificate (SIPC) program offered by the John Molson Executive Centre (JMEC).
Through his consulting work, Amr provides portfolio managers with a quantitative equity model and a monthly market analysis newsletter. He also offers sustainable investment training to corporate clients and financial institutions.
Amr has been affiliated with John Molson in various roles since 2005. He oversaw the John Dobson Investment room (formerly Formula Growth Investment Room) and was a Research Associate with the David O’Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise. Amr has been teaching at the Goodman Program’s MBA in Investment Managements since 2007 and at the Finance Department since 2006.
Amr is also involved in several volunteer activities related to sustainable investing, including serving as a member of Finance Montréal’s Working Group on Sustainable Investing, serving as a member of the Academic Advisory for the MMI Sustainable Investing Initiative, and serving on Concordia’s Joint Sustainable Investment Advisory Committee (JSIAC). Amr was also Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Finance and Sustainability Initiative until its acquisition by Finance Montréal in 2018.
Amr obtained his MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1995 and his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo in 1991. Amr is an active member of the CFA Institute.
