Mamoun Medraj, CMCP Director

Dr. Mamoun Medraj coordinates the CMCP and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the equipment.

He is a professor of mechanical and industrial engineering at the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science and received his PhD in Materials Engineering from McGill University in 2001.

He is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario, a Fellow of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering and has published more than 120 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

His research projects include:

• Laser Additive Manufacturing of Metals
• Water Droplet Erosion for Power Generation and Aerospace Applications
• Electrospinning of Ceramic Fibers
• Hydrogen Embrittlement in Landing Gears
• Solid-State Hydrogen Storage

Dmytro Kevorkov, Materials Characterization Specialist

Dmytro supports users of all platform instruments by expertly helping researchers, students and other users to maximize the capabilities of the equipment for their research needs.

He has more than 25 years of experience in materials characterization and development, 20 years of experience in materials testing labs, and more than 10 years of experience in leading and supervising research and development labs.

He has PhDs in Inorganic Chemistry (1998) and Materials Engineering (2001) and has 62 publications in scientific journals.

He is responsible for the maintenance and operation of testing equipment as well as for training and supervision of students.
