Membership in the School of Health is open to individuals committed to advancing health research and education across Biomedical Sciences and Engineering, Clinical Research and Prevention, and Community Health Research.
Policy and procedure for granting membership
Concordia's School of Health is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in research, teaching and community activities. This policy, subjet to change, outlines the procedures for granting membership status to various stakeholders involved in research activities, academic programs, experiential learning activities and community programs within the School of Health.
Become a member
Applications are open for the following membership tracks, each with specific privileges and responsibilities.
Concordia University Researcher
Tenure-track or tenured faculty members from Concordia.

- Access to School of Health administrative and research staff and support services.
- Access to exclusive School of Health funding opportunities and student awards.
- Eligible for School of Health merit awards for research, teaching and experiential learning and knowledge transfer activities.
- Access to conferences, workshops, colloquiums and networking opportunities with other members, experts and stakeholders.
- Opportunities to participate in research projects or knowledge transfer activities.
- Access to PERFORM Centre facilities (as per the PERFORM Centre platform access policy and procedure) including:
- research platforms,
- meeting spaces,
- student spaces,
- office space, as required.
- Adherence to ethical guidelines.
- Compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Responsible conduct of research.
- Reporting of research findings.
- Inclusion of School of Health affiliation in publications, when applicable.
- Serve, when relevant, on committees that support School of Health mission and vision. The service time will be kept at a reasonable level.
Concordia University Student/Postdoctoral Fellow
A Concordia student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a Postdoctoral Fellow registered at Concordia and conducting research under the supervision of a faculty member who is a member of the School of Health.

- Access to scientific events, including the School of Health’s colloquium series and annual conference.

Participant Partner
Individual participating in School of Health activities as a research participant or client.
- Opportunity to impact health research, knowledge translation, awareness and decision-making in health.
- Opportunity to collaborate on the design and development of research activities, academic programs, experiential learning activities and community programs.
- Access to research findings.
- Potential impact on healthcare practices.
- Contribute knowledge and expertise as required.
- Maintain confidentiality agreements.
- Actively engage in collaborative activities within the School of Health.

Community Organization or Institution Partner
Representative of an external organization or community group collaborating with the School of Health in research activities, academic programs, experiential learning activities and community programs.
- Opportunity to impact health research, knowledge translation, awareness and decision-making in health.
- Opportunity to collaborate on the design and development of research activities, academic programs, experiential learning activities and community programs.
- Contribution to community health initiatives.
- Compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Dissemination of information on activities (research projects and outcomes, community programming, educational opportunities) to the community.

Application process
Submission
To establish a transparent and efficient membership application process for School of Health, applications are accepted at any time and reviewed periodically.
Applications must be submitted with the following:
- An accurately completed application form.
- A curriculum vitae (CV). Acceptable formats are short free-form or granting agency format (ie. CCV), focussing on the last 6 years.
- For Student/Postdoctoral Fellow applicants, an attestation of status from their academic supervisor.
Review and selection
Applications will be reviewed and selected by the School of Health Executive Committee. Selection will be based on demonstrated expertise and relevant contributions. This application procedure is designed to ensure a fair, transparent and inclusive process for selecting qualified and dedicated individuals whose activities align with the School of Health’s academic and research themes.
Notification and announcement
- All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application with an email to their Department Chair and Faculty Dean.
- Accepted members will receive an official letter confirming their membership status and outlining their roles, responsibilities and terms of service.
- New members will be formally announced through the School of Health communication channels. An optional orientation session will be offered periodically.
Membership term
- Concordia faculty members are appointed for a three-year term.
- Concordia Students/Postdoctoral fellows are appointed for the duration of their studies (for the program in which they are registered at the time of submission of their application)
- The School of Health has the right to revoke membership at any time if the research activities deviate from the vision and mission of the School.
