Membership

Membership in the School of Health is open to individuals committed to advancing health research and education across Biomedical Sciences and Engineering, Clinical Research and Prevention, and Community Health Research.

Policy and procedure for granting membership

Concordia's School of Health is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in research, teaching and community activities. This policy, subjet to change, outlines the procedures for granting membership status to various stakeholders involved in research activities, academic programs, experiential learning activities and community programs within the School of Health.

Applications are open for the following membership tracks, each with specific privileges and responsibilities. 

Application process

Submission

To establish a transparent and efficient membership application process for School of Health, applications are accepted at any time and reviewed periodically.

Applications must be submitted with the following:

  1. An accurately completed application form.
  2. A curriculum vitae (CV). Acceptable formats are short free-form or granting agency format (ie. CCV), focussing on the last 6 years.
  3. For Student/Postdoctoral Fellow applicants, an attestation of status from their academic supervisor.

Review and selection

Applications will be reviewed and selected by the School of Health Executive Committee. Selection will be based on demonstrated expertise and relevant contributions. This application procedure is designed to ensure a fair, transparent and inclusive process for selecting qualified and dedicated individuals whose activities align with the School of Health’s academic and research themes.

Notification and announcement

  • All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application with an email to their Department Chair and Faculty Dean.
  • Accepted members will receive an official letter confirming their membership status and outlining their roles, responsibilities and terms of service. 
  • New members will be formally announced through the School of Health communication channels. An optional orientation session will be offered periodically.

Membership term

  • Concordia faculty members are appointed for a three-year term.
  • Concordia Students/Postdoctoral fellows are appointed for the duration of their studies (for the program in which they are registered at the time of submission of their application)
  • The School of Health has the right to revoke membership at any time if the research activities deviate from the vision and mission of the School.
