Meet Vitor Yano

Hey, I'm Vitor! I am from Brazil and, coming to Canada to study at Concordia, I had the opportunity to become a doubly international student at Oslo Metropolitan University, in Norway, during my master in Educational Studies. I like to read, to cook, to bike, and to hike and I had a great experience doing everything that I love while in my exchange semester!

The one thing I wished I would have known before going on exchange is.

So much paperwork! Be prepared and be on top of everything as no one will be managing that for you. You need to be organized, especially if France is your host country, because the administration system there are certainly not top tier!

Going on exchange challenged me because...

I had never lived by myself before, so that was certainly new and a challenge.

My favourite part of going on exchange was...

Having the opportuity to get to know a new country, its cultural differences, to tast new food, and to meet people from many different places around the world.

The scariest part of going on exchange was…

The fear of being alone and not being able to make friends in Norway. The actual experience was totally different from my expectations, and I made a lot of great friends who I miss a lot now!
