Programs & events

We offer a variety of activities for you and your children.

Youth programs

Sunday Youth Program

The Youth Sunday Program is a new initiative by CUSP that aims to promote a holistic educational experience for youth aged 9-15 years old.

Weekly programs

Storytime/Reading circles

Your children will enjoy storybook adventures and interact with our animators and the other children in the group over Zoom.
Takes place on Tuesdays (in English) and Thursdays (in French) between 6 - 7 p.m.

Conversation groups

Practice your language skills in a small group facilitated by a native speaker. You are welcome to join the French and/or English conversation group!

The French conversation group meets every Wednesdays from 12 - 1 p.m.

Homework club

School-aged children receive free individual tutoring on Zoom for schoolwork with qualified bilingual interns.

Homework Club Tutors are trained and supervised by CUSP staff, and are bilingual high-school, college, or university-level students.

Takes place on Wednesdays evenings and on Saturdays.

Study breaks/Babysitting program

CUSP wants to help you get your work done during the weekend. Let us take care of your children while you study!

Takes place on Saturdays from 12 - 4:30 p.m.

Community art classes

Children are given tools to express their creativity and taught to appreciate art with Concordia student art educators. Activities could include arts and crafts, drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and more. Parents are welcome to use this free time to relax or study at the centre (concurrently hosted with Study Breaks this year)

Life skills workshops

Subject matter experts share their expertise on wide range of topics as related to parenting, housing, effective studying, time management, health and wellness, financial planning, conflict management, etc.

Sessions will be announced via CUSP's weekly newsletter and on our Facebook page.

Annual events

Orientation

Join us at the beginning of September, welcoming new and returning student parents and their families. It's a great opportunity to meet our staff, to take a tour of our Centre and learn all what it offers and to connect and meet your fellow student parents.

If you can’t make it, or if you're starting in January, don’t worry! We are always happy to schedule a one-on-one appointment at any time that suits you.

Graduation celebration

Bring the whole family to celebrate your graduation in June. You and your children will delight in the games, henna designs, face painting and a buffet-style lunch.

Cook outs

Learn to make easy, economical and nutritious meals for you and your family. Cook outs are a monthly opportunity for you and your child(ren) to cook a healthy meal together. Bonus: bring home leftovers for those busy nights!

Fall and spring parties

We hold "family life events" at various points during the year to give you an opportunity to socialize with each other student parents and to enjoy activities with your children.

Holiday season party

Our way of celebrating the holiday season at the end of fall term! A family-friendly event with delicious food, games, activities, plus a special gift for each child.
