About the Artwork

In this high traffic tunnel of the Quartier Concordia, the absence of natural light compelled the artist to think of ways to bring both "nature" and "light" into an underground passageway linking major buildings to the metro system.

Working closely with one of the leading stained glass ateliers, the painter's brush strokes and intentional drips were translated into a new medium - helping to infuse the colour and energy of each distinct season to passersby.

About the Artist

Yehouda Chaki's work is found in private and institutional collections the world over. Born in Greece and trained in Paris and Israel, he considers himself an expressionist. He has built his international reputation on his striking paintings but was inspired to work in glass for this particular space.
