One skill retake service

IELTS One Skill Retake allows test takers to improve their IELTS score without repeating the full test. If test takers feel the IELTS test results do not reflect their true English language ability, they can retake one of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking).

Until now, students could only take a major English language proficiency test (such as IELTS) in one sitting for all skills: Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking. IELTS is the first and only test to allow students to retake one skill and improve their overall test score.

To be eligible for IELTS One Skill Retake, a student must have recently completed an Academic IELTS on Computer test and have received the results from a test centre that offers IELTS One Skill Retake.

Please be aware that as of now, the IRCC has not officially accepted the new IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR). It is advisable to verify with your Recognising Organisation (RO) whether they currently acknowledge this new One Skill Retake (OSR).

Organizations that accept IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR)

OSR Test Fee: $195

Conditions to book IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR)

1. You can book the test if you’ve recently completed a full IELTS on Computer test.
2. You must also have received your results from a test centre that offers IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR).
3. You can only retake one skill once per original test, and you must sit the One Skill Retake within 60 days of your original test.
4. You must have the same ID document used for the original full IELTS test to sit for OSR.

How do I book IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR)?

What about IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) cancellations?

You can cancel your IELTS OSR test at any time before taking your test by notifying your Test Centre.

Refund terms depend upon when you cancel and whether exceptional circumstances and Special Considerations apply.

No refund is provided if the IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) result is not recognised by any given institution, organisation, or government body. Please make sure to check if your Recognising Organisation accepts OSR before registering.
