Grant application process

This page will help guide you through the process of submitting your funding application though the Concordia Research Administration Database (ConRAD) and to the funding agencies.

Grant application submission process

Submitting a well-developed research grant/proposal involves several steps to ensure a successful submission and timely response. Here is a simple step-by-step guide to follow once you have completed your proposal:

  • Review the funding agency/sponsors guidelines and requirements and ensure your application meets all criteria, and finalize the application in the agency portal (if applicable).

  • Upload and submit your final application and all supporting documentation to ConRAD ahead of the agency deadline.

  • The university’s approval process occurs through the ConRAD system. Your application may be reviewed by one of our Advisors, Research Development advisors, your Faculty, and the Research Grants Team for final approval. You may receive additional comments or feedback that will need to be addressed in your proposal.

Standard ConRAD Submission - All applicants

The Application must be submitted 7 days ahead of the Deadline for Advisor and Faculty review and reach the Research Grants for review 3 days ahead of the Deadline

Accelerated ConRAD Review Submission – Available to Associate and Professors only

The Application must be submitted 2 days ahead of the Deadline for Research Grants review.

  • In most cases, the grant application is then submitted electronically to the agency.  If signature sheets are meant to be uploaded by the applicant themselves, the Research Grants Team will return them to you.

Follow these steps and adhere to Concordia's research grant application processes to improve your chances of submitting a complete and timely application.
