Research security

Concordia is dedicated to the highest standards of research security, essential for safeguarding the integrity and progress of our research. Aligned with the Government of Canada's approach to securing research, we guide researchers through the complexities of security requirements.

Our aim is to equip you with the tools to effectively handle research security protocols, protecting your work from risks and promoting a secure and innovative research environment.

Government of Canada requirements and guidelines

To protect Canadian research, the federal government has implemented requirements and guidelines for research security. This includes the Policy on Sensitive Technology Research and Affiliations of Concern (STRAC) and a list of research organizations associated with the military or state security entities of foreign states viewed as threats. Specific domains have been identified as sensitive, with guidelines established for securing federal research funding in these areas.

Please review the following resources provided by the federal government:

Government of Quebec guidelines have not yet been released and you do not require a research security declaration or form at this time.
