Hamidou is a local farmer who specializes in rare vegetables typically found in warmer climates, he has spent years naturalizing these plants so that he can offer fresh culturally relevant vegetables to migrant communities. He will be bringing a few of his favourite vegetables: okra, squash & molokhia. Hamidou guide us through how to prepare the vegetables for seed saving, and how to save the seeds for next years planting. Afterwards there will be a light lunch of Molokhia stew, and another suprise stew (details to come) to show us how these tasty veggies can be prepared.

This is a family & all ages event, anyone is welcome to attend (children must attend with a guardian).

This event is hosted by the Concordia Greenhouse with support from the Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability. It is part of Campus Sustainability Month at Concordia, a month-long series of sustainability events and activities.
