Join fellow alumni, students and friends for a screening of award-winning film Geographies of Solitude, by Concordia graduate Jacquelyn Mills, BFA 08, followed by a Q&A with the director.

Geographies of Solitude is an immersion into the rich ecosystem of Sable Island, Nova Scotia, guided by naturalist and environmentalist Zoe Lucas who has lived more than 40 years on this remote sliver of land in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean.

The film premiered at the Berlinale Forum, winning three awards, and has since garnered 27 awards including Best Canadian Feature Film at Hot Docs and Outstanding Artistry in Filmmaking from the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. The film received a critic's pick from the New York Times and was nominated a Canadian Screen Award and an IDA Documentary Award.

-Several Concordia Alumni were close collaborators on the film, who I met the first day of film school in 2005. Andreas Mendrtizki; Co Sound Designer and Aonan Yang; Executive Producer.
