One of the challenges faced by developers of online curricula is to draw the learners out of what some may perceive as passivity and isolation. For this reason, it is important for us to strategically incorporate complex, responsive and interactive activities into the courses to heighten the learner’s focus and deepen their engagement with the learning material at key moments.

Producing engaging online content allows eConcordia to enhance the student’s online learning experience and align it with the university’s Quality Standards. Working in close collaboration with the instructors, and drawing from the best practices of other multimedia industries, we seek to formulate course content in multiple different forms in order to achieve this collective goal. These engagement components can allow students the opportunity to explore course concepts through a perspective not always offered by traditional learning methods, making their experience more memorable.
