Join our facilitator Camellia Jahanshahi (she/her) for part 2 of the popular workshop “Boundaries Are My Love Language”.

NotePrior participation in part 1 is not required. All are welcome!

In this edition of the series we turn to look at our interpersonal relationships; family, lovers, partners, roommates, and friends. How can we define our values and boundaries while actively engaging in relationships? How do we notice red flags? How can we be accountable as beings capable of harm who want to move forward with love, compassion, and a little bit of grit? In this workshop we’ll look at how we can establish boundaries but also explore how we can support each other in this work; how we can respond to harm; and how we can be soft while still being accountable.

We will be doing a shallow dive into vulnerable topics like intimate partner violence and healing from abuse through boundaries. Please feel free to bring any calming object with you (a rock, a stuffie, your favorite water bottle) and plan time for after the workshop to potentially regulate as needed.

Facilitator Bio
Camellia Jahanshahi (she/her) is a non-profit community worker with a BA and MA in Religions and Cultures from Concordia University, a professional leadership diploma from Cornell University in Diversity and Inclusion, and around 10 years of experience working with nonprofits on their anti-oppression mandates and policies. She comes at this work primarily through creating opportunities for solidarity and joy by organizing space for other queer and/or racialized people, but also through offering comprehensive workshops and educational opportunities for all who are interested.

In addition to her work in the community sector, she also runs two small businesses (Sumac and Sugar, and Holy Matter/s) and works as a performance artist in the cabaret scene. Balancing several roles is both a challenge and a joy, driven by her anti-o and solidarity based values, she cares a lot about how she structures her environments in order to thrive while also lifting those around her up.

"Boundaries are not about yes or no, they are not about limitations or permission or even this thing we call consent. They are the space between me and you, the borderland where fear ends and desire begins. They are the place where love can live without being lost." -Kai Cheng Thom
