MIGS will host the second edition of the Montreal International Security Summit on 16-17 October. From 29 June to 7 July, MIGS’ Executive Director Kyle Matthews traveled to Taiwan as part of an official Canadian think tank and academic delegation. He met with Taiwan’s leading think tanks, academic institutions, governmental agencies and Canadian diplomats, and also met MIGS’ donor, the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy.
 




Kyle Matthews will participate in the upcoming GLOBSEC Forum that will take place in Prague from 30 August to 1 September.

MIGS is excited to welcome Pauline Springer as the institute’s newest Youth Fellow who will help in conducting research and strategic communications for the upcoming Montreal International Security Summit.

July 9

MIGS co-signed a Crisis Action joint CSO private letter to the UN Secretary-General Guterres on recommendations for the protection of civilians in Sudan.

MIGS Fellow Phil Gurski hosted Tasha Kheiriddin (political analysts, thought leaders, and strategists) on a Borealis podcast titled “Will Canada ever get to the bottom of the PRC interference debacle?”

As a member of the advisory group, MIGS’ Marie Lamensch participated in the second meeting of the “Cyberhéros : outils pour combattre les cyberviolences”, an initiative launched by Les 3 sex* and supported by Women and Gender Equality Canada.

MIGS hosted an X Space discussion titled “Global Autocracies: Tools of Digital Repression.” The event featured Noura Aljizawi, Senior Researcher at The Citizen Lab, and Marcus Kolga, Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute.

MIGS Fellow Phil Gurski hosted Dr. Casey Babb (Senior Fellow with the MacDonald Laurier Institute) on a Borealis podcast episode titled “How bad has anti-Semitism gotten in Canada?”
