Women and Homelessness: Vectors on Invisibility Symposium | Sept. 27 at Concordia
Students and faculty are invited to attend this symposium called Women and Homelessness: Vectors of Invisibility.
The symposium consists of two parts:
The morning will consist of an opening keynote address by Julie Miville-Dechene, independent senator for Quebec, followed by two panels of presentations by local organizations that work with women experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Some of these organizations provide internship sites for Creative Arts Therapies graduate students.
The afternoon will consist of roundtable interactive activities. The roundtable activities, composed of a mix of academic representatives and community members, will provoke discussion on key factors related to women experiencing homelessness. The objective of these activities is to identify concrete actions leading to policy influence and improving the response to homelessness in Montreal.
The deadline for registration is September 12. For more information or to RSVP, visit: http://www.concordia.ca/finearts/research/urban-futures/events/women-homelessness.html
