With finals around the corner, it can be a stressful time of year – not to mention world events and concerns closer to home that may be on your mind. Keep these key resources and support in mind.

Need to talk? Or seeking someone to simply listen? 

Peer support 

Peer Wellness Ambassadors are fellow students trained in active listening. They can help you talk through an issue or direct you to more resources on campus and beyond.  

Spiritual guidance

At the Multi-Faith and Spirituality Centre, a chaplain, interfaith facilitator or member of the multi-faith network are available for one-on-one consultations in matters of faith, spirituality, values, ethics, relationships, and the self.   

Academic accommodations

Depending on your situation, an academic accommodation may be an option to minimize the adverse effects of medical or other concerns on your academic progress. 

Professional and medical resources

Mental health appointments Review all the resources within Concordia’s network of care for timely access to services. Note: there are limited appointments. 

Mental health phone & text support (on-campus and external resources) Helplines and listening services provide short-term counseling, as well as confidential, empathetic listening. 

The Sexual Assault Resource Centre offers confidential, non-judgmental support and services to Concordians of all genders and orientations who have been affected by sexual violence and/or harassment. 

Speak with a health promotion specialist, a registered nurse offering personalized support, consultations and education designed to promote your health and wellbeing. 

Wellness activities

Consider signing up for a wellness workshop or activity, offered via the Zen Dens: mindfulness, art therapy, yoga, and more.

The Concordia Art Hive is a community space and arts-based mental health resource where you can de-stress and socialize with others while being creative.  

Learning opportunities

Book an appointment with a learning specialist for one-on-one guidance for studying strategically and effectively. 

The Equity Office offers a series of workshops on anti-racism, equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion, year-round.  

Making friends and connecting with others

Join a student group

Explore Concordia’s many social spaces to connect with peers, study, relax, chat, and eat. 

Are you a new student? 

• Talk with a Welcome Crew mentor. 

• Join Homeroom: Meet and bond with other new students and learn how to navigate the university experience together.
