As part of the university’s continued efforts to improve services to support students, Deputy Provost Lisa Ostiguy is pleased to announce that Bradley Tucker is assuming the new role of associate vice-president of Registrarial Services on May 1, 2014.

“Brad brings extensive knowledge of Concordia to his new role and the strategic vision needed to effectively lead the Office of the Registrar,” says Ostiguy. “His expanded mandate will include creating a seamless journey for our students – from the time they apply and are accepted, to graduation.”

“Last summer, we realigned the full range of Student and Enrolment Services under the Office of the Provost,” explains Benoit-Antoine Bacon, provost and vice-president of Academic Affairs. “This has allowed better integration with the academic sector and has strengthened our capacity to support students in achieving academic success.

Bradley Tucker Bradley Tucker assumes his new role, which includes serving as the university’s registrar, on May 1.

“Brad will play a pivotal role in leading the Office of the Registrar, and, as a key first step, he will oversee the implementation of a new student information system, which will bring tangible benefits not only to students but to our faculty and staff,” he says.

Areas previously overseen by Tucker, which included Health Services, Counselling and Development, and Advocacy and Support Services, will now report directly to the deputy provost. This move will provide greater opportunity for collaboration across sectors, and build stronger, coordinated service offerings for students.

The Registrar position has been held on an interim basis by Stephanie Sarik since November 2012. Stephanie will continue in her role as the director of Financial Aid and Awards. “I would like to thank Stephanie for serving as interim registrar during the last year and a half. I very much appreciate her willingness to take on additional responsibilities to support the university,” says Ostiguy.

Since June 2012, Tucker has been associate vice-president of Student and Enrolment Services. Prior to that appointment, he was director of the Office of Institutional Planning and Analysis from 2006 to 2010.

“I am pleased to assume this new role, seeing how it builds on my past experience at Concordia. I look forward to continued collaboration with our community that is unique in its dedication to our institution and its mission,” he says.

Tucker joined Concordia in 2001 as a researcher coordinator and became the senior analyst of academic planning in 2005. He also chaired the working group, which developed the Academic Plan for 2012-2016.

He holds a MM in Musicology and Music Performance and a Cand. Phil. in Musicology from Indiana University, Bloomington. He also served as a visiting lecturer and project director with the University of Missouri, Columbia from 1995 to 2000.
