Dear Concordians,

Last August, you were invited to submit a proposal for the 92nd Acfas Congress, and we truly hope you'll join us at the event.

As a reminder, École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), in partnership with Concordia University, will be hosting the largest multidisciplinary scientific gathering of the French-speaking world from May 5 to 9, 2025.

If you haven’t done so yet, we encourage you to submit a proposal — whether for a symposium or a free communication — by October 11.

By participating, you’ll have the chance to:

Make a positive impact on society

As a scientist, you know how important it is to push the boundaries of knowledge and share your findings. Scientific communication is also essential to improving public understanding of science and tackling misinformation.

Advance your research

Forge new connections with colleagues from fields you're eager to explore, opening doors to new research opportunities.

Inspire the next generation of researchers

Mentor your talented students by encouraging them to present their work at this prestigious event.

Share your research and raise your profile in the scientific community

Showcase your work to a diverse Francophone audience that includes the media and key decision-makers.

We’re counting on your participation to make this congress an exciting and memorable experience for the entire French-speaking scientific community.

Graham Carr,
President, Concordia University

Katy Baig,
Chief Executive Officer and Director General, ÉTS

Read about why some of your colleagues joined previous editions of Acfas:

“I vividly remember my first participation in the Acfas Congress, a precious opportunity to present the results of my doctoral research. This experience not only expanded my collaborative network within the Canadian Francophonie but also helped me build strong, lasting ties with established researchers in Quebec. It’s worth noting that Acfas plays a fundamental role as an essential platform for showcasing research from Francophone minority communities."

Chedly Belkhodja, Professor, School of Community and Public Affairs, Concordia

"Participating in the Acfas Congress is a must for any researcher. Not only does it allow you to share your work with an influential scientific community, but it also lets you play an active role in advancing knowledge across diverse fields. The exchanges with internationally renowned experts and the visibility offered by the Congress provide invaluable opportunities for the growth and recognition of research in the Francophone world."

Daniel Salée, Chair, Department of Political Science, Concordia

“Acfas is a real eye-opener for students, particularly those who are more comfortable in English. The Congrès gives them a chance to experience the francophone academic world firsthand. They’ll gain exposure to research happening in French, which can add a whole new layer to their work. And since the conference is right here in Montreal, it’s easy to attend and accessible for students.”

Sylvia Kairouz, professor of sociology and anthropology, Concordia

"I organized a panel because it gave me a good reason to invite and meet key people in a research field I want to develop."

Ghyslain Gagnon, Dean of Research, ÉTS

"At ÉTS, we value interdisciplinarity, and conferences like Acfas allow us to discover recent advances at the intersection of different disciplines."

Marc-Kevin Daoust, Professor, ÉTS

"Acfas gave me the chance to discuss topics at the intersection of research and teaching that are fundamental to our work but don’t necessarily have a place in conventional technical conferences."

David St-Onge, Research Professor, ÉTS

"Participating in the Acfas Congress allowed me to learn about other researchers' work and engage in discussions about potential collaborative projects with different research teams."

Amin Chaabane, Research Professor, ÉTS
