Mission/mandate/about the organisation:
La Fonderie Darling est un lieu d’arts visuels, fondé et dirigé par l’organisme artistique à but non lucratif Quartier Éphémère, dont le mandat est de soutenir la création, la production et la diffusion d'œuvres d’art actuel. Véritable petite entreprise, la Fonderie Darling développe tout un éventail d’outils permettant la diffusion de l’art dans un cadre élargi. Installée dans deux anciens bâtiments industriels mitoyens du Vieux-Montréal, la Fonderie Darling dessert sur 3500m2 ses principales activités. La présentation d’expositions, la mise à disposition d’ateliers aux artistes locaux et de résidences internationales offrent aux artistes et au public la possibilité de vivre une expérience épanouissante dans un cadre inspirant et dégagent une cohérence qui facilite la compréhension de l’art actuel. Unique en son genre à Montréal, la Fonderie Darling a pour ambition de croiser les scènes artistiques locales et internationales à travers ses activités.
Context of the internship:
Fonderie Darling offers internship opportunities at different key positions for students interested in working in the field of contemporary arts. Our head of public programming can supervise internships related to arts education and mediation, whereas our chief and assistant curators can offer internships related to curatorial work, writing and exhibition coordination. Other positions and hybrid internships in relation to archiving, marketing and promotion, membership or accessibility and diversity can also be offered.
