Museum of Jewish Montreal
Mission/mandate/about the organisation
The Museum of Jewish Montreal is an innovative place to connect with Montreal’s Jewish life and identity, share the community’s diverse heritage, and create new cultural experiences.
Context of the Intership
The Museum of Jewish Montreal is committed to using contemporary art as an activator to increase understanding and appreciation of the diversity of Jewish culture and identity in Montreal. Interns will have the opportunity to work with our curatorial team to explore the intersections of contemporary art, heritage, and community building through exhibition planning and research, arts programming, and the creation of a public mural. The Museum also runs a Research Fellowship for university students every summer, where fellows receive 3 weeks of training and spend the summer leading historic walking tours, engaging in research projects, and animating our Museum front desk. Fellows work together as a close-knit cohort and meet regularly for check-ins and weekly professional development seminars.
