Caroline is the mentor for you if you are interested in: Multidisciplinary practice (drawing, sculpture, installation, performance and video), body, health, feminism, eco-feminism, writing, interventions in public spaces, art residencies in atypical contexts, artist-curator.

Caroline Boileau is a multidisciplinary artist, independent curator and educator living in Montreal. Working from a feminist perspective, with a specific interest in health - intimate, public, social and political - She creates works, often hybrid, which are developed through a multidisciplinary practice using installation, drawing, video and performance. The hybrid body, the multiple representations of the body – woman’s body in particular - are recurring themes in her research, inspired by the history of art, the history of medicine, science and also the news. Working in dialogue with places, collections and objects, , communities and people, her work reveals improbable cohabitations by proposing the transformation, both poetic and political, of a shared space.

Active in the artist-run centers community since the 90s, she has participated in numerous residency projects and her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, the United States, Scandinavia and Europe. Her video work is distributed by GIV (Video Intervention Group). Since 2015, she has been leading the Groupe de discussion sur la pratique at L’imprimerie centre d’artistes and, since 2018, she has been teaching an exploratory approach to drawing at the Visual Arts Centre. From 2020 to 2024, she is artist in residence at the Chaire McConnell-Université de Montréal en recherche-création sur la réappropriation de la maternité : libérer la parole des femmes.
