Francine Allaire
Francine is the mentor for you, if you are interested in: production, consultation and communication within the television and/or film industry.
Francine Allaire has worked in the Canadian and international television and film industry for more than 40 years.
She is currently producing a major Indigenous multiplatform and multimedia project entitled Laissez-nous raconter/Telling Our Story presented internationally through television, radio, and podcast series. The project is produced by Terre Innue, and includes teaching guides, books, exhibitions, musical projects, digital shorts on social media and a full-dome, immersive experience at the Montreal Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium.
From 2007 to 2018 she was a senior executive at Radio-Canada/CBC: Executive Director, TV Drama, Comedy and Feature films, and then, Arts & Entertainment, and Executive Director, Cultural Strategy.
In her 10 years, from 1996 to 2006, as Executive producer and producer for Galafilm and Motion International (aka Coscient and SDA Productions) her productions won numerous Gemini, Gémeaux and Jutra awards as well as international prizes. Namely for Hunt for Justice : The Louise Arbour Story (Wendy Crewson, John Corbett, Heino Firch), Agent of Influence (Christopher Plummer, Marina Orsini), Dr.Lucille, The Lucille Tesdale Story (Marina Orsini, Lou Gosset Jr, Massimo Ghini), The Blue Butterfly (William Hurt, Raoul Trujillo, Pascale Bussières), Steel Toes (David Strathairn), Marché Jean-Talon (Jean-Philippe Duval), La Classe de madame Lise: and many documentary features and series and drama specials.
She also worked at Telefilm Canada as Director, International Marketing and Festivals. She is the co-founder of Films Transit, an international film and television sales and promotion company, in operation since 1980.
Francine Allaire is a relentless advocate of reconciliation with Canada’s First Peoples and of Diversity & Inclusion on and behind the screen. She was honored by Women in film and television for her longstanding career.
