TEMPO
Teaching, Making & Performing Online
TEMPO: Teaching, Making and Performing Online is a team of FOFA-based creative researchers, working in tandem with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). This team of alumni (Art Volt) and faculty will offer pedagogical support to part-time and full-time faculty in Fine Arts who are transitioning to remote teaching. We will: assemble a resource library of artistic approaches to using online platforms and reimagining them as creative mediums; act as a connector to internal and external resources; and demonstrate tools and best practices for online fine arts pedagogy.
Call for Creative Researcher
Art Volt and TEMPO are looking for alumni to help assist in developing and organizing an online resource library of tools and strategies for creative online artmaking and teaching. This toolbox will be available to students, faculty and alumni through Moodle and the Art Volt Website.
The selected candidate will be tasked with finding examples of artists and creative practitioners who are using online platforms as an artistic medium unto themselves. Such as Miranda July using Instagram to have her followers create a crowdsourced movie, or the music video created in Zoom by Thao & the Get Down Stay Down. These examples should represent the diversity of medium, practices and disciplines that exist within the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Starting as soon as possible, the selected researcher will receive a $2000 honorarium and will be required to complete between 100 to 150 hours of work towards the development and implementation of this online toolbox.
Skills
Must be curious about and facile with technology, and love looking at how other artists and educators are making (and breaking!) online platforms.
Familiar with Moodle, Zoom, and applications for online collaboration and art-making (e.g. Instagram, Slack, Discord, OBS, Adobe Creative Suite, Loom, etc.).
Adept at online research, writing, and organizing information.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excited to help the Faculty of Fine Arts make the transition to remote learning, and ready to bring your own personal perspectives as a recent student to the table!

Call for Instructional Videos
Art Volt and TEMPO are looking for creative alumni to imagine and produce video tutorials for digital and analog pedagogical tools. Subject matter will include: “how-to” videos for at-home art-making methods; tips for documenting 2D, 3D, and performance-based works; as well as showcasing how to innovate on digital platforms, based on examples of online artworks in the TEMPO resource library. Each video will be approximately 4–10 minutes in length, and will be made available to students, faculty, and alumni through Moodle and the Art Volt Website.
These videos should represent the diversity of medium, practices, and disciplines that exist within the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Selected candidates will receive a $250 honorarium for each video tutorial.
Skills

Call for Faculty Support
Art Volt and TEMPO are looking for an alumni to help train faculty members in new ways of using online technology creatively. Using the toolbox and instructional videos as inspiration, the selected candidate will be tasked to work with a team of FOFA students and other alumni to deliver Zoom training sessions to fine arts faculty members. Candidates who have experience organizing/hosting online events will also have the opportunity to create engaging online public events for departments in Fine Arts, such as virtual exhibitions, performances, publication launches, artist talks, etc.
The candidate should demonstrate an interest in and ability to work with the diversity of medium, practices and disciplines that exist within the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Starting as soon as possible, the selected researcher will receive a 2000$ honorarium and will be required to complete between 100 to 150 hours of work towards supporting faculty members and their remote teaching initiatives.
