Public scholar: Burcu Olgen
In the public space, how can artificial intelligence improve community experiences and lead to more efficient, ecological and sustainable interactions?
Burcu Olgen is a doctoral candidate in the Individualized Program, where she integrates artificial intelligence (AI), interactivity and education to create eco-didactic experiences in public spaces, fostering dialogues on environment and sustainability. She holds a bachelor's degree and a Master of Science in Interior Architecture from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
Burcu’s research explores interactive engagement modes in eco-art, digital art and gamification. She investigates how AI and digital interactivity can enhance public eco-didactic experiences, transforming cities into creative and humanitarian playgrounds that inspire curiosity, enthusiasm and proactive environmental action.
Her research is supported by a Concordia University Individualized PhD Fellowship and her work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and media outlets.
