While the media and policymakers pay most of their attention to the extremes of the business landscape of start-ups and large firms, there is a big gap in the middle that consists of small and medium-sized businesses which are often left behind.

These small to medium-sized businesses are Quebec’s hidden champions and its economic backbone. They represent around 99% of all firms in the province. The KPMG-JMSB Entrepreneurial Indices focuses on this crucial area.
