Anti-Asian racism subcommittee

Call to participate

We invite current staff, faculty and students (including those who graduated in 2024) to share their concerns or experiences related to these issues at Concordia. Your participation will help inform the work and approaches of the committee as well as our policy recommendations.

We invite participation from those with direct experience and also those who have observed structural and identity-based violence (broadly defined) related to Anti-Asian Racism on campus.

How to participate

To gather as much information as possible, we are providing different ways for people to engage with and contribute to the work of the Anti-Asian Racism subcommittee.

We invite you to share your experiences with us by joining our Dumplings & Dialogue workshop, or by sharing your experiences in writing.

Dumplings and Dialogue workshop poster hosted by STRIVE's anti-asian racism subcommittee on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. The event is for Concordia members. Space is limited, so please apply by January 8, 2025 to participate.

Let's kick start an open dialogue about what “being Asian” means on campus and beyond, while we make and share a meal together. Participants will get to know one another through informal conversations, arts-based methods, and creative prompts.

Together we will explore a range of topics including:

Understanding Asian identity
Celebrating Asian culture
Envisioning a safe and inclusive space for Asian community members at Concordia.

Whether you are new to making dumplings (we will teach you!) or an old hand at wrapping, we look forward to connecting with you.

Register early to participate

Space is limited, so please register before January 8, 2025 to participate. We are aiming for representation across students, faculty, and staff from Concordia University.
