Emily Allen-Hornblower

Associate Professor of Classics at Rutgers University

The Gail and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Institute for Studies in Canadian Art, in collaboration with the students of ARTH 668: Speaking from the Studio: The Art of Embedded Writing, invites you to a conversation with Dr. Emily Allen-Hornblower, Associate Professor of Classics at Rutgers University.

You’ll have the opportunity to experience Xenia, an ancient Greek concept that embodies hospitality, friendship, connection, and shared experiences. Through a dialogue between Dr. Allen-Hornblower and guests, we will explore its various meanings, and its relationships to sharing space and the arts.

We warmly invite you to share food and drink with us while we engage in a conversation, creating an experience of togetherness while blending the worlds of past and present, classical studies, and contemporary art.
