Message from the interim Dean
Dear Members of the Concordia Community,
As Interim Dean of the School of Health, I am excited to share this latest edition of our e-newsletter, which highlights some of the incredible work and upcoming initiatives within our growing community.
The School of Health serves as a dynamic hub for health research, education and knowledge translation through community offerings, harnessing Concordia’s strengths in Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Research, Clinical Research, and Prevention and Community Health. This mission is brought to life by the dedicated efforts of our faculty, students, staff and partners who are committed to driving innovation and fostering health.
In this edition, we’re thrilled to showcase the Athletic Therapy Clinic, which plays a pivotal role in offering hands-on learning opportunities for our students. Managed by our talented internship students under the supervision of certified Athletic Therapy instructors, the clinic offers a range of services and programs designed to support recovery and performance.
Looking ahead, we’ll share an overview of the exciting programs our dedicated team of kinesiologist and internship students in the PERFORM Gym will be launching in the new year, which will broaden the scope of our educational, research and community offerings.
We’re also delighted to introduce our new dietitian, who will be leading the development of services in the Nutrition Suite. These new offerings will support health promotion and nutritional education for our community and beyond.
Lastly, I am proud to announce the launch of School of Health memberships. This initiative will focus on fostering collaborations with participant partners and community organizations or institutions, further strengthening our ties and impact within the broader health ecosystem.
As we reflect on this past year, and look to the year ahead, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being an integral part of our mission to inspire and promote healthier communities. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season filled with health, happiness, and connection.
Best holiday wishes,
Véronique Pepin, PhD
Interim Dean.
