Withdrawal from the University

After considering your options, if you have decided to withdraw from Concordia University, you must drop the courses you are registered in before the published drop deadlines to avoid financial and/or academic consequences and notify the Office of the Registrar of your decision to withdraw.

STEP 1

Consider your options and learn how we can support you.

Withdrawing from the university means that you will no longer be an active student and will lose access to important services and resources. 

Before making your decision, consider these options:

  • Explore the possibility of taking time off – A leave of absence or reduced course load might be a better fit for your situation. 

  • Get academic supportThe Student Success Centre offers one-on-one tutoring, mentoring, study groups, and workshops, as well as a welcoming community of professionals, peers, and faculty who want to help you succeed.

  • Schedule an appointment to meet with an academic advisor – discuss your concerns and potential pathways forward.

STEP 2

Withdraw from your courses.

If you are certain that you no longer want to attend Concordia, withdraw from courses you registered for and do not wish to continue by the appropriate official term deadline (DNE or DISC).

Complete this step through your My CU Account using the Enrollment: Drop Classes section. For more details, refer to the instructions on how to drop a course.

STEP 3

Submit a formal request for withdrawal by e-mail. 

Your request must be signed and include your: 

  • full name; 

  • student ID number; 

  • preferred e-mail address on file; and 

  • the date that you wish to withdraw from the University.

*Incomplete requests may not be processed and returned for verification.
