Public conversations podcast

This is a series of bilingual podcasts inspired by University of the Streets Café, a series of public conversations held in neighbourhoods around Montreal.

A series of bilingual podcasts

Episode 1:
Let’s talk through art: how can creative work nourish public dialogue?

This bilingual conversation explores the following questions: how can art help us initiate or nurture public dialogue? Does art have the potential to unlock questions in our conversations? Can art help address historical injustices?

Moderator Anurag Dhir speaks with Majiza Philip, a teacher, performer, choreographer, and tap dancer, and Concordia PhD holder Emanuelle Dufour, who is the author of the comic "C'est le Québec qui est né dans mon pays".

Episode 2:
20 Years of University of the Streets Café

The bilingual conversation features three former University of the Streets Café program coordinators.

Eric Abitbol, the founding coordinator, has a PhD in Peace Studies. Currently the President and CEO of Universalia, he's spearheading transformative initiatives. Elizabeth Hunt is the second former coordinator and has spent the last 25 years dedicated to developing spaces for citizen engagement, community learning, and strategic discourse. Alex Megelas is the third coordinator, who is an educator and community organizer, and currently leading research innovation and business development at Concordia's Institute of Applied AI.
