Why choose the Certificate in Community and Organizational Leadership?

You have practical work experience in the social services sector and you’re looking for additional training and practice in your chosen field. As a student in our program, you’ll acquire the knowledge and skills that help bring about effective change in special needs groups, organizations and communities.  

This certificate can be completed with an emphasis in Community Intervention, Health Promotion or Organizational Leadership.

Program options:

  • Certificate in Community and Organizational Leadership (30 credits)

    The program is designed for those, although qualified in their own profession, who wish to obtain additional training and practice in their chosen field. The educational approach of the Certificate is experience-based learning, or learning-by-doing. Experiences in groups, both inside the class and outside, are integrated into the program. The Certificate can be completed with an emphasis in one of the following: Community Intervention, Health Promotion, Organizational Development.

Part-time basis

The courses in the certificate program are tailored to suit the needs of the mature student, and are designed for completion on a part-time basis.

Further academic study

Credits earned in the certificate program may be applied towards the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree.

We consider complete applications year round and we give priority to applicants who apply by official deadlines. Late applications will be considered if places are still available for the fall term only.
