The Department of English offers programs in English literature, creative writing, as well as a minor in professional writing. Composition courses support your learning process.
Undergraduate & graduate programs
English literature
We offer a wide selection of special topics courses, including Medieval, Postcolonial, Renaissance and Contemporary literature. Our small class sizes mean your professors will give your work the attention it deserves.
Creative writing
This specialized program draws on existing writing skills, which means only the best portfolios are selected. Letters of intent are also required.
Minor in Professional writing
Professional writers can distill complex topics for a given audience in written, visual, digital, and oral media. The Professional Writing minor is designed for students in any major, and complements all degree programs.
Composition courses
Open to all students in the Department of English, these courses will help you develop the composition skills you will need to complete your program.
