Biography

Muhammad Jamal received a PhD in Management from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. At present he is a full professor in the Department of Management at the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal.

His research interests include job stress, burnout and health, coronary-prone Type A Behavior, cross-cultural management, shiftwork, nonstandard work hours, and understanding moonlighters.

He has published articles in Journal of Organizational Behavior, European Management Review, Arab Journal of Administrative Sciences, Canadian Journal of Public Health, International Journal of Stress Management, Journal of Small Business Management, Canadian Psychology, Stress Medicine, Human Relations, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, International Journal of Management, Public Personnel Management, Personnel Journal, Behavioral Medicine, Journal of Occupational Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Human Resource Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Laval Journal of Industrial Relations, Industrial Relations (Berkeley), Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Journal of Social Behavior and Personality, Indian Journal of Occupational Medicine, International Journal of Commerce and Management, and Journal of Vocational Behavior.

His consulting activities are in the areas of stress management, work scheduling, employee health and well being, time management, and performance management. Dr. Jamal has presented over seventy-five papers in national and international conferences. He was a visiting professor of Management at the Peoples' University of China, Beijing and the French Institute of Management, Paris, France. He was an invited participant at the NATO-ASI Conference on Work, Stress and Health in Toulouse, France. Dr. Jamal has been a member of the editorial board of the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, Journal of Organizational Behavior. and International Journal of Stress Management.
