What to expect
Join in-person and virtual events to identify and leverage your strengths, explore career options, sharpen your job search tools and build your Canadian network.
Events include:
- An interactive networking workshop to build your confidence and create more meaningful connections
- Career panels with recruiters and international alumni working in Quebec to help you gain insights and expand your network
- Workshops to help you successfully navigate the Canadian job market

Tuesday, January 14 — In-person
Free food and beverages!
When: 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Where: H-771
In this workshop, you will learn how to develop your French-language skills and explore which strategies can best help you to fulfill your career goals in Quebec.
Facilitator: Barbara Tremblay, Career Counsellor
When: 12 – 2:30 p.m.
Registrants will be contacted prior to the event with a specific time slot and the event location.
A professional headshot is key to making a great impression! Take advantage of the free LinkedIn photoshoot with a professional photographer.
Due to limited availability:
- If you cannot attend, please cancel your registration so that your spot can be given to another student.
- Students can partake in one photoshoot session per degree during their time at Concordia.

Wednesday, January 15 — Online
When: 10 – 11 a.m.
Get an overview of government, community and Concordia resources for learning and improving your French. You'll gain insights into how much time it may take to achieve your desired level of French. You'll also learn fun ways to practice French in your daily life.
Facilitator: Chanel Bourdon, Réussir en français
When: 12 – 1:30 p.m.
Are you looking to stand out to Canadian employers? In this interactive workshop, you'll discover the transferable skills that employers value. You'll also learn how to identify the skills you've gained from your past experiences and how to effectively highlight them in your job search. Finally, we'll explore ways to engage in new experiences to further develop your skill set, making you an even stronger candidate.

When: 2 – 3:30 p.m.
Join the International Students Office (ISO) for an information session to address some of the practical matters facing students who are planning to work in Montreal or anywhere else in Canada.
We will look at:
- The proper documentation needed to authorize you to work on- and off-campus
- Working after graduation (Post-graduation)
- Obtaining your Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Filing taxes
This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations set by Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and have your questions answered.

Thursday, January 16 — In-person

This interactive workshop will help you understand the importance of networking, develop new networking strategies, and give you the opportunity to practice your networking skills in a fun and relaxed environment.

While you enjoy a light lunch, get a chance to tour the space of International Students Office (ISO) and play a fun game of bingo to meet new friends! Put your networking skills from Networking 101 into practice in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

Engage with a panel of Concordia alumni who were once international students just like you. They’ll share their personal journeys, including the challenges they faced and how they overcame them to achieve success as students and recent graduates.
Discover the job search strategies that worked for them in Montreal and how they navigated the Canadian job market. You'll also have the chance to ask questions and gain valuable insights into what life after graduation holds.
