We offer free help with any written assignment!

Who we are

Writing assistants are peer tutors here to help you at any stage of the writing process. Services are available in English and French. 

We can help you:

  • Understand assignment instructions
  • Improve your research skills
  • Overcome writer’s block
  • Compose your thesis statement
  • Organize your ideas
  • Learn to paraphrase and cite correctly
  • Fine-tune your final draft
  • Learn how to use AI tools ethically in your academic writing

Our services

Summer 1 2024: Writing assistance is available by appointment and on a drop-in basis until June 21, 2024.

Summer 2 2024: Writing assistance is available by appointment and on a drop-in basis from July 02 until August 09, 2024.

By appointment

To book a 55-minute online or in-person appointment:

  • Log into your Student Success Centre portal
  • Click on Student Learning Services> Peer Tutor Appointments> Peer Tutor – Writing, Conversation, and Coaching Appointments
  • Click on the "Show Filter" button at the top-right of the calendar and select an appointment type

Appointments are available at Sir George Williams Campus (H-763) or online.   

NEW! Writing Feedback Service

Book an appointment to have a Writing Assistant review your paper for 1 hour. Send in your draft and the Writing Assistant will send you valuable feedback at the end of the appointment time. To book an appointment for feedback:

  • Log into your Student Success Centre portal
