David Grott Biography

David graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Jazz Composition and Arranging from St Francis Xavier University in 1986. He has been freelance trombone and bass trombone player in Montreal since 1986 doing concerts, shows, musical theatre, and studio work in all musical genres. David has performed on hundreds of studio recording sessions including CDs with Sarah McLachlan, Cirque du Soleil, Celine Dion, Ginette Reno, Robert Charlebois, Offenbach, Daniel Lavoie, Les Colocs, Oliver Jones,  Vic Vogel, Sonny Greenwich, Christine Jenson, Lorraine Desmarais, and Joe Sullivan.

David is presently the lead trombone player in the big bands of Joe Sullivan, Christine Jenson, Vic Vogel, Altsys Jazz Orchestra, and L'Orchestre national de jazz de Montreal.

David has also performed in many musical theatre productions including North American tours of Chicago, Annie Get Your Gun, Catch Me If You Can, Forever Swing (featuring Michael Buble), and has toured Asia with productions of The King and I, and 42nd Street.
