Biography
Dr. Elizabeth Teel joined the Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Applied Physiology as an Assistant Professor in August 2022. She completed her postdoctoral training (2017-2022) in the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill University, under the supervision of Drs. Isabelle Gagnon and Stefanie Blain-Moraes. Dr. Teel received her BA (Highest Honors) in Exercise and Sport Science and her PhD in Human Movement Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Additionally, Dr. Teel holds a MSc in Kinesiology from Penn State University. Dr. Teel enjoys baking, reading, watching sports, and spending time with her family.

Research activities
Dr. Teel is the director of the Concussion Neurophysiology and Rehabilitation Research Lab (aka the CeRebRaL lab). Her lab has two primary interests: 1) to measure changes in brain structure and function after concussion and 2) to develop effective treatment programs to improve brain function and clinical presentation after concussion. Dr. Teel uses cutting-edge neuroimaging, aerobic exercise programs, and clinical assessments to achieve these goals. Ultimately, this research is hoping to reduce risk of repeat injury, promote earlier entry into treatment, support safe return-to-activity decisions, and improve short- and long-term quality of life for individuals with concussion.
