Biography

Israël Dupuis' work is based on the idea of a social design "with people".  He has been involved in the collaborative outreach project design and community engagement (Concordia's Dans La Rue) since 2001. In this live lab class, participants from various community organizations learn to use graphic and multimedia design to develop employability skills and bolster their self-confidence. Much of his recent work is devoted towards sustainable multimedia design approaches and products for the community.

Research interests

Recently, Israël Dupuis' research are community-based projects involving a Computer Art Therapy approach.
He is currently working with the Y des femme centre ville creating sustainable development tool in digital literacy, art and communications.
Other fields of research focus around the development of e-portfolios as a pedagogical instrument for employability and acquisition of social skills for individuals living with personality disorders.

Areas of expertise

Israël Dupuis is now lecturing the class DART 453 Design and community engagement. He is a full time graphic design college professor at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal.
