Lon Dubinsky, PhD

Lon Dubinsky has initiated and coordinated multi-year and multi-faceted museum-community collaborations, including the Reading The Museum program of the Canadian Museums Association and The Cultural Future of Small Cities, the latter supported by the CURA program of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. He has undertaken several curatorial projects in Canada and elsewhere, is a consultant to museums, galleries and cities on planning and policy and was a collaborator on the recently completed Canadians and Their Pasts study which explored why and how Canadians engage the past.  Recent or forthcoming publications include: "The Coded Aesthetic Experience, "On the Aesthetics of Community: A Cape Breton View," and "Museums as In-Between Institutions: Can They Trusted?." Lon Dubinsky studied at Dalhousie, Queen's and New York University, and received his Ph.D. in Communications from McGill.
