- Ph.D. Condensed matter Physics, Montreal University

- M.Sc. Condensed matter Physics, Montreal University

- B.Sc. Physics, Montreal University

I have been involved in the synthesis, physical understanding andcharacterization of metastable and nanostructured materials for more than 40years. I started studying quantum effects at low temperature in metallicglasses, exploring magnetic transport and superconductivity.

At the Hydro-Quebec Research Institute (IREQ) I investigated thestructural and physical properties of a variety of energy related metastableand nanostructured materials for such applications like: hydrogen storage, photohydrolysis, electrolysis, Li-ion battery, fuel cells, electrical contactsand nuclear reactor alloy.

I also developed the Hydro-Quebec Materials CharacterizationLaboratory, being very much interested in nanostructured characterization at high atomic resolution.

I co-authored nearly 200 peer-reviewedpapers that have been cited more than 9400 times and has contributed to fourpatents. I co-chaired six international meetings related to nanostructuredmaterials. In 2008, I was elected fellow of the American Physical Society andin 2019 I was also made a fellow of the Institute of Physics. In 2023, I was awarded the Canadian Associationof Physicist Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Industrial and Applied Physics.
