Biography

Nicole Gingras is a curator, author and researcher who works independently as well as with museums, galleries, artist-run centres and festivals. Her interest in exploratory practices in film and video along with visual arts, sound art and kinetic art is reflected in various projects produced in national and international contexts: major exhibitions and programming, editorship of singular publications, monographs, artist’s books, analytical texts, and interviews. Her research explores creative processes and the notions of time, listening and traces. She teaches in the MFA Program of Concordia University since 2005.

In 2012 Nicole Gingras received the Hnatyshyn Foundation Award for Curatorial Excellence in Contemporary Art. In 2020, Nicole Gingras received the Concordia University Faculty of Fine Arts Distinguished Teaching Award for an established part-time faculty member.
