Peter Cooney

Peter Cooney worked in various editorial roles for many years at The Gazette in Montreal. He was City Pages Editor, National Editor, Foreign Editor, Page 1 Editor, Review Editor, Insight Editor and Assistant Managing Editor for editorial production and new media. He headed a project to introduce electronic page makeup to The Gazette, and led a small team that started The Gazette’s website in 1995, making the paper the first major Southam publication to go online. He has also worked on newspapers and other editorial projects in the UK, U.S. and Caribbean, was a Senior Editor at The National in Abu Dhabi, UAE and is now at the Toronto Star where he is Team Editor (training) for editorial.
