Mission/mandate/about the organisation:
La lumière collective is a local artist-run curatorial collective specialising in presenting artist-cinema to local audiences. The collective hosts artists, projections, performances and special events all year long. The collective also houses a library and videothèque specialising in avant-garde, underground, experimental and artist cinema.
Context of the internship
La lumière collective is looking for help with the following tasks: Maintenance of the library and bookstore; Website and social media updates; Coordinating screenings and workshops; Assisting with administration; Editing, transcribing and translating artist interviews; Assisting during film projections (digital and 16mm).
Profile:
- Desire to work in the field of film exhibition.
- An interest in artist-run and community spaces.
- Comfortable with teamwork.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Available to work one day per week (and occasional evenings).
- Fluent in French and English (the work environment is mainly French)
